Made for Eliza's Christmas gift this year, to go with the set of Grimm's and Andersen's fairy tales I found for her. Not a particularly good photo, but it was 15 degrees and snowing outside when I took these, so . . .
Made of satin ($3.95/yard at Hancock, less 40% coupon, less 15% senior discount), 6 yards — she's tall, and I had to lengthen the skirt 10". The pattern I bought for 99 cents at one of Hancock's sales.
Everything else except the neckline silver braid (bought new at Hancock; $1.79 for one yard) and the zipper came out of the vintage trim box. The lace overlay I bought, I think, at Mr. Ward's Fabric Outlet in North Charleston sometime in the mid-1980's; it still had the "Made in U.S.A." tag on it!
I'm happy with it, on the whole; other than the zipper . . . apparently I am no longer capable of putting in a decent-looking zipper. Good thing she's only 9. . .
