This is the chicken that roosts in the evergreen in the side yard . . . every evening about four o'clock she comes up on the porch, has a few nibbles of cat food, a little water, meanders around the yard for a bit, and flies up into the tree for the night. None of the others that escape periodically ever come around here; apparently it's HER territory.
The world is full of things both strange and wondrous . . .
Could you please tell me the source for the quotation "take joy"? I remember the phrase from Tasha Tudor's book which I gave my mother many years ago, but I'm having a heck of a time searching for it on the net ... and your site (I love it) came up.
The site is really an inspiration ... we seem to read the same books, like the same sort of projects, share political views, etc. etc. Thank you SOOO much Linda

I WANT A CHICKEN, TOOOOOOO! LOL! That's so cute! And I AM getting senile for SURE. I hurried to your blog, THINKING it was FRIDAY, and expecting kitty-people. Sheesh, Kai! Get your days straight! Oh, well! That just means I have Kitty Day to anticipate TOMORROW! Besides, I got a CHICKEN today! That was good, TOO!
